Understanding the SoftDent Task Manager

The SoftDent Task Manager:

Is installed during the installation process
Includes an icon in the lower-right corner of your desktop

The Task Manager processes office expert queries. Query results are displayed in the Office Expert Summary section of the Practice Central window and in the Office Expert window.

Example:Example:If you set the office expert to run the Account Aging item every night at 11:00 p.m., the office expert contacts the Task Manager to gather the item information from the server. The Task Manager returns the results to the office expert. When you log in the following day, the Office Expert window is displayed, and the item results are displayed in the window.

The Task Manager requires a TCP/IP connection. If the Task Manager is not running, you must restart it from the server.

The SoftDent Task Manager window is displayed when you click the SoftDent Task Manager’s icon in the lower-right corner of the desktop, and enables you to view the SoftDent Task Manager log.
