Using Insurance Plan List and Insurance Plan Window Options

In the Insurance Plan List or Insurance Plan window, you can:

• View insurance plan details.

• Access a history file.

• Use the auto dialer.

• Print address labels.

• Print laser envelopes.

• View transactions for Medicaid and DMO/capitation plans.

• Log and track insurance plan contact information.

• Receive Trojan updates.

• Print Trojan information associated with the insurance plan.

• Merge insurance company information with a Letter Expert template.

• View claim documents attached to the insurance plan record.

• View the insurance company associated with the selected insurance plan.

The commands available from the Options section of the Express bar or the Options menu when using the Enhanced Workspace are:

• History:Accesses a history file using your word processing software. In your word processing software, enter notes for the plan. The file name is plannumber.hst. History files are stored in the \SoftDent\History directory.

• Labels > Label:Prints an insurance plan label.

• Labels > Envelope:Prints a insurance plan laser envelope.

• 0 - Auto Dialer:Dials an insurance company number. If you do not have a modem, this information is displayed for your reference.

• Update from Trojan:Updates insurance plan information from the Trojan database. This command is enabled only if you subscribe to Trojan.

• Print Trojan Plan:Prints the Trojan information associated with the selected plan.

• Trojan Update Options:Sets up options to update your insurance plan information from the Trojan database.

• Letter Expert:Merges insurance plan information with a letter template.

• Replace Plan ID:Deletes duplicate insurance plans.

• BlueBook:Adds, edits, and deletes insurance plan bluebook notes.

• Transactions:Posts insurance company payments to the plan and prints plan transactions.
  This command is enabled only when a DMO/Capitation or Medicaid plan is selected.

• Contacts > By Date:Adds, edits, prints, or deletes insurance plan contact information; attaches a memo to the contact.

• Contacts > By Type:Adds, edits, prints, or deletes insurance plan contact information; attaches a memo to the contact.

• Claim Documents:Views claim documents associated with the insurance plan.

• Show Insurance Company:Views, adds, edits, or deletes insurance plans associated with the insurance company.

• Show Insured Patients:Views a list of patients assigned to the insurance plan.

• TeamTalk:Views conditions associated with the note and deletes expired notes.
