Configuring Settings for the ePrescriptions Module

Before you can fully access the ePrescriptions features, you must configure your settings from the Modules menu.

User Login

To set up the user login:

  1. Select System > Modules > ePrescriptions > Configure eRx Login. The ePrescribing Settings window is displayed.

  2. On the User Account tab, type the user ID and password given to you by eServices, and click OK.

Creating a New Clinician User for ePrescriptions

To add a new clinician user:

  1. Navigate to Change Healthcare at https://clinician.changehealthcare.com/.

  2. Enter your username and password and then click Login. The Main window is displayed.  

  1. On the Admin tab, select Account Management > Manage User.  The Account Management window is displayed.

  2. Select the name of a current user from whom you want to copy the permissions for the new user.

  3. Click Copy User. The Copy User window is displayed.

  4. Fill in all required fields, indicated by blue dots.

  1. Deselect the Password Expires option.

  2. Click Save.

  3. In the SoftDent software, configure the user name and password to match the ePrescriptions credentials.

Drug Utilization Review (DUR) Preferences

To set up DUR preferences:

  1. Select System > Modules > ePrescriptions > DUR Preferences. The ePrescribing DUR Preferences window is displayed.

  2. Use the features on this window to set the drug review warning preferences for the appropriate facility or doctors in the list.

Pharmacy Preferences

To set up pharmacy preferences:

  1. Select System > Modules > ePrescriptions > Pharmacy Preferences. The ePrescribing Pharmacy Preference List window is displayed.

  2. Use the features on this window to add pharmacies to the list for your facility.

Prescription Preferences

To set up the prescription preferences:

  1. Select System > Modules > ePrescriptions > Prescription Preferences. The ePrescribing Rx Preference List Management window is displayed.

  2. Use the features on this window to add prescription drugs and physician comments for your facility.
