Running the Reset Holiday.Def File Utility

Run this utility to reset the holiday.def file and clear any dates marked as annual holidays.

To reset system holidays:

1. Instruct all users to exit the software.

2. Select Start > All Programs > SoftDent Software > SoftDent Utilities. The SoftDent Login window is displayed.

3. Type your user name and password and click OK. The SoftDent Utilities window is displayed.

4. Select File > Reset Holiday.Def File. A message informs you that running the utility will update the file to your current scheduler settings.

5. Click OK. The holidays are reset. A message informs you to reset annual holidays.

6. Click OK and exit the software.

7. Select C:\SofDent\resethol.txt. This file contains a list of annual holidays. For example, you must reset Thanksgiving as it does not fall on the same date each year.

8. Restart the software.
