Running the Add/Delete/Replace User Codes Utility

This utility enables you to add, delete, or replace user codes for all your patients and accounts. Run this utility to remove a user code that you no longer use or to add a specific user code to all patients or accounts in your system. When you replace an existing code, all patient and account records containing the code are updated with the new code.

To add or delete a user code:

1. Instruct all users to exit the software.

2. Select Start > All Programs > SoftDent Software > SoftDent Utilities. The SoftDent Login window is displayed.

3. Type your user name and password and click OK. The SoftDent Utilities window is displayed.

4. Select Maintenance > Add/Delete User Codes. The Add or Delete User Codes window is displayed.

5. Select an option:

6. To add a code:Type the code in the Add field.
   
   To add the code to the patient database, select Patient Data.
   
   To add the code to the account database, select Account Data.
   
   Click OK.

7. To delete a code:Type the code in the Delete field.
   
   To remove the code from the patient database, select Patient Data.
   
   To remove the code from the account database, select Account Data.
   Click OK.

8. To replace a code:Type the code to replace in the Replace field and the new code in the with field. To update patient records containing the code, select Patients. To update account records containing the code, select Accounts.

A confirmation message is displayed.

6. Click Yes. A message informs you that the selected operation is complete.

7. Click Close.

8. Restart the software.
