Referring a Patient to an Outside Doctor from the Patient Window

To refer one of your patients to an outside doctor from the patient record:

1. In the Patient window of the patient you want to refer, select the doctor from the Doctor drop-down list in the Referred Out To section of the Info tab.

2. Type the reason for the referral in the For field.

3. Select the date on which you referred your patient and the date you expect the patient to return to your practice from the date drop-down lists.

4. If no return date is selected, you are prompted to use the current date when a production code is posted after the patient’s expected Due Back date.

4. Click OK.
