Referring a Patient to an Outside Doctor from the Patient Appointments Window

To refer one of your patients to an outside doctor from the Patient Appointments window:

1. Select Make Referral from the Options section of the Express bar or Options menu. The Patient Referral window is displayed.

2. Select the doctor to whom you are referring the patient from the Referred to drop-down list.

3. Type the reason for the referral in the Reason field.

4. Select the date on which you expect the patient to return to your practice from the Expected Back drop-down list.

5. If no return date is selected, you are prompted to use the current date when a production code is posted after the patient’s expected Due Back date.

5. Click OK.
