Running the Remap Provider Utility

Run this utility to substitute a new provider in patient and account records. Appointment, treatment plan transaction, and tickler entry records are updated with the new doctor’s identification number.

To replace an existing doctor’s identification number with a new one:

1. Instruct all users to exit the software.

2. Select Start > All Programs > SoftDent Software > SoftDent Utilities. The  SoftDent Login window is displayed.

3. Type your user name and password and click OK. The SoftDent Utilities window is displayed.

4. Select Maintenance > Remap Provider. The Remap Provider ID window is displayed.

5. Select an option:

6. To remap provider identification numbers:Select Remap Doctor ID from the Pick an option to run this utility drop-down list.

7. To remap hygienist identification numbers:Select Remap Hygienist ID from the Pick an option to run this utility drop-down list.

6. Type the new and old provider identification numbers in the appropriate fields.

7. Click OK. A message informs you that the process is complete.

8. Click OK.

9. Restart the software.
