Understanding Patient User Codes
Patient user codes are displayed in the User Code column of the Patient List window and entered in the patient record. Use these codes to group patients according to specific criteria.

to turn off the insurance estimation for the patient.
The pre-defined user codes are:

A:A:The
patient accepts assignment of all benefits. The Accept Assignment
option (number 27) is selected on the patient's HCFA form. This code
overrides the value entered in the Accept Allowed field in the Insurance
Plan window.

I:I:The
patient is inactive.

C:C:The
patient account has been turned over to a collection agency.

L:L:The
patient account is involved in a legal case.

M:M:The
second line of text entered in the Notes field in the Patient window
is printed in the recall list and on recall postcards addressed to
the patient.

N:N:The
patient is excluded from receiving recall notices.

P:P:Prints
PREMED (premedicate patient) on recall letters and postcards sent
to the patient. PREMED is also displayed in the patient's appointment
card.

RN:RN:This
code specifies the monthly interval of recalls. Type R6, for example
to indicate a six-month interval between recalls.

W:W:The
patient receives medical assistance.

X:X:This
code turns off the insurance estimation.

A warning is displayed when
you attempt to schedule a patient with the following user codes:
C, I, or L.

A warning is also displayed
when you attempt to add a transaction to a patient record that
contains C or I user codes.
