Posting a Patient Procedure from the Transactions Window

You can post procedures to a patient record when the patient is not scheduled for an appointment on the current date.

To post a patient procedure from the Transactions window:

  1. In the Patient List window, select a patient and click Transactions on the toolbar. The patient Transactions List window is displayed.

  1. Click Add. The Transactions window is displayed. The office and patient identification numbers are displayed.

  2. Select the code to post from the Code drop-down list.

  3. If you use color-scheduling, the Description field is displayed in the assigned color.

  1. Select any tooth and surface information.

  2. If you are posting an ADA code linked to a CPT medical code, select the codes from the Diagnosis Codes drop-down lists.

  3. Select the production and collection doctors from the Production Dr and Collection Dr drop-down lists.

  1. Select the place and type of service from the Place of Service and Type of Service drop-down lists.

These drop-down lists are only enabled when a medical code is selected. The default values for these fields are entered in the Medical Information section of the ADA/Transaction Codes window.

  1. If the code is insurable, select Insurable. If the procedure is posted to a Medicaid or DMO/capitation plan patient, this field defaults to the Cov’d field value in the Insurance Plan Coverage window.

  1. Type any notes in the Notes field and click OK.
