Performing Occlusal Exams

To perform an occlusal exam:

  1. On the Exams tab in the Charting for window, click Occlusal Exam on the Patient Exams toolbar. If no occlusal exam exists for the patient, skip to step 3.

  2. Select an option:

  4. To edit the existing exam:To edit the existing exam:Click Edit Exam on the Exam Options toolbar.

  2. To indicate there are no occlusal conditions:To indicate there are no occlusal conditions:Click All OK.

  3. Select the anterior teeth conditions in the Anterior Teeth section.

  4. Select the posterior teeth conditions in the Posterior Teeth section.

  5. Type the overjet amount in the Horizontal (Overjet) field:Type the overjet amount in the Horizontal (Overjet) field:You can use the numerical keypad to enter information in this field.

  6. Type the overbite amount in the Vertical (Overbite) field:Type the overbite amount in the Vertical (Overbite) field:You can use the numerical keypad to enter information in this field.

  7. Type the open bite amount in the Open Bite field:Type the open bite amount in the Open Bite field:You can use the numerical keypad to enter information in this field.

  8. Select the occlusion class in the Occlusion section.

  1. Click Save Exam.

  2. To display the next exam, click Next Exam.
