Using the Document Manager
Organizing Documents in the Document Tree
You can use several grouping and sorting options to organize the documents in the document tree. In addition, you can customize the way documents are saved and organized.
The following grouping and sorting options are available:
-
Group By Category:This option groups documents by category (for example, RVG, Misc Patient Documents, and so on). The category folders display in the tree based on the order specified in the Customize Document Categories window. Several categories are predefined in the software, but you can also add categories of your own. Documents that are automatically archived (letters, billing statements, HIPAA acknowledgements, and so on) are automatically assigned a category. You can assign any category you wish to documents that you scan or import. See Customizing Document Categories for more information.
-
Group By Date Acquired:This option groups documents by the date documents are created, enabling you to see every image or document that is saved for a patient on a specific date. All images and documents created on the same day are placed in the same date folder, followed by the document category folder.
-
Sort By Date Acquired:This option enables you to sort images or documents within a category by the date on which the documents or images are created. Documents are sorted by date in descending order. The creation date and time, followed by the document description, are displayed for each document.
-
Sort By Description:This option enables you to sort images or documents within a category alphabetically by description. The document description, followed by creation date and time, are displayed for each document.
