Understanding Operating Modes
The software functions in different modes depending on what operation you are performing.
Example:When you enter a new record, the software is operating in ADD mode.
When you search for a record, the program operates in FIND mode.
When you modify a record, the program operates in EDIT mode.
The modes are:

SCAN mode:The default mode for all data entry windows. You can view, but not edit, the information in the window.

FIND mode:Used with the Find feature and enables you to search for and view records.

ADD mode:Used after you click Add and enables you to enter new records. After you add the record or cancel the operation, the program returns to SCAN mode.

EDIT mode:Used after you click Edit and enables you to modify existing records. After you edit the record or cancel the operation, the program returns to SCAN mode.
The current operating mode is indicated in the lower-right corner of the Status bar.
