Activating New Accounts

When you add a new account or patient in the Daily Appointments Book At A Glance windows, the account information is stored in the database and can be viewed and edited from the Account List, Account, Patient, and Patient List windows. The title bar on these windows indicates that the account or patient is new. As long as the patient or account is considered new, most features in the Options section of the Express bar or the Options menu are disabled.

To activate a new account:

  1. In the Daily Appointments or Book At A Glance windows, select the scheduled time unit for the new patient and select Activate from the Options section of the Express bar or the Options menu.

If the patient to be activated is associated with an existing account:

If the patient to be activated is associated with a new account:

  1. Type the information in the fields and click OK. A message that asks you to activate the new patient or account is displayed.

  2. To activate the new account or patient record, click Yes. The record is displayed. When you activate a new patient, the associated account is automatically activated. If you activate a new account, however, you must individually activate each patient in the account.

  3. If you add a new patient to an existing account, you must activate that patient.

  1. Click Close.
