Running the Reset Insurance Rollover Date Utility

Run this utility to identify and reset accounts in which the last rollover date in the patient’s Guarantors/Insurance window is set to a future date. This problem can occur if a user forward-dates the computer and enters transactions for an account. If the last rollover date is set to a future date, the plan’s benefits will not roll over when the plan reaches its anniversary. As a result, insurance estimation may not take place when it should.

Using this utility, you can search all accounts for guarantors whose last rollover date is greater than the current date and reset the date to the plan’s last anniversary date.

To reset the insurance rollover dates for these accounts:

  1. Instruct all users to exit the software.

  2. Select Start > All Programs > SoftDent Software > SoftDent Utilities. The SoftDent Login window is displayed.

  3. Type your user name and password and click OK. The SoftDent Utilities window is displayed.

  4. Select Maintenance > Reset Insurance Rollover Date. The Reset Scheduler Default Book window is displayed.

A message asks you to confirm the current system date.

  1. Click Yes. A message informs you the process is complete and specifies the number of found future recall dates.

  2. Click OK. A message asks you to print a log.
