When you first access a patient chart, the initial chart is displayed.

Chart existing conditions
Chart work done outside your practice

Clinical notes associated with an initial chart are always displayed in green text.
The dentition for the patient is automatically calculated and the appropriate set of teeth are displayed. When you set up practice information in the Practice window, you dictate the age at which permanent teeth are displayed in the chart.
Primary teeth with the molars unerupted are displayed in the chart for patients younger than the patient adult age. Permanent teeth are displayed, and all primary teeth are indicated as missing in the chart for patients equal to or older than the adult age.
After you save the initial chart, only a user with the security permissions to edit the initial patient chart can change the chart.
To access the initial chart:
Select Initial Chart from the Mode drop-down list.
Select the appropriate button from the Chart Mode toolbar, or press F4.
