Running the Import Text File Utility

Run this utility to import account and patient information previously stored in an ASCII text file. Each field must be separated by a semicolon before running the utility.

To import account or patient records:

1. Instruct all users to exit the software.

2. Select Start > All Programs > SoftDent Software > SoftDent Utilities. The SoftDent Login window is displayed.

3. Type your user name and password and click OK. The SoftDent Utilities window is displayed.

4. Select File > Import Text File. The Import Data into SoftDent window is displayed.

5. Select the location of the file from the drop-down list located in the middle of the window.

6. Click Apply.

7. Click OK.

8. Restart the software.
