Running the Assign Hygienist ID to Patient Utility

Run this utility to add a default hygienist to all patient records or those associated with a specific provider identification number.

To assign a hygienist identification number to patient records:

1. Instruct all users to exit the software.

2. Select Start > All Programs > SoftDent Software > SoftDent Utilities. The SoftDent Login window is displayed.

3. Type your user name and password and click OK. The SoftDent Utilities window is displayed.

4. Select Customize > Assign Hygienist ID To Patient. The first window of the Hygienist ID Setup Program is displayed.

5. Click Continue. The second window of the Hygienist ID Setup Program is displayed.

6. Select an option:

7. To assign the same default hygienist to all patients:Select (None) from the Choose doctor’s name or select none to assign all patients drop-down list.

8. To assign the default hygienist to patients seen by a specific dentist:Select the provider’s name from the Choose doctor’s name or select none to assign all patients drop-down list.

7. Select the hygienist from the Choose hygienist to assign drop-down list.

8. Click Apply. A message asks you to confirm the selections.

9. Click Yes. A message informs you the process is complete and specifies the number of modified records.

10. Click OK.

11. Restart the software.
