Running the Find/Replace IDs Utility

Run this utility to delete duplicate employer, insurance company, or insurance plan identification numbers.

To remove duplicate employer, insurance company, or insurance plan records:

  1. Instruct all users to exit the software.

  2. Select Start > All Programs > SoftDent Software > SoftDent Utilities. The  SoftDent Login window is displayed.

  3. Type your user name and password and click OK. The SoftDent Utilities window is displayed.

  4. Select Maintenance > Find/Replace IDs. The Find and Replace IDs window is displayed.

  5. Select an option:

  6. To delete duplicate employer records:To delete duplicate employer records:Select Employer Id, type the identification number associated with the duplicate record in the Find field, and type the identification number associated with the master record in the Replace field.

  7. To delete duplicate insurance company records:To delete duplicate insurance company records:Select Insurance Co Id, type the identification number associated with the duplicate record in the Find field, and type the identification number associated with the master record in the Replace field.

  8. To delete duplicate insurance plan records:To delete duplicate insurance plan records:Select Insurance Plan Id, type the identification number associated with the duplicate record in the Find field, and type the identification number associated with the master record in the Replace field.

  1. Click Apply. A message asks you to confirm the identification number replacement.

  2. Click Yes. A message informs you the process is complete.

  3. Click OK.

  4. Click Close.

  5. Restart the software.
