Changing Payment Allocation While Posting Transactions

When you post transactions in the patient Transactions window, the doctor information that is displayed in the Collection Dr field indicates the provider who is to receive payment for the procedure. The doctor identification number is the doctor selected for payment allocation in the provider record. You can assign collections to a different provider for the transaction.

To change the payment allocation while posting a patient transaction:

  1. In the patient Transactions window, click Add. The Transactions window is displayed.

  2. Select the transaction code from the Code drop-down list.

  3. To change the doctor who is to collect payment for the transaction, select the appropriate doctor from the Collection Dr drop-down list.

  4. Click OK.
