Canceling a Claim

On certain occasions, you might want to cancel, rather than delete, a submitted claim.

Example:Example:If you entered the wrong insurance company information. Canceling a claim changes the status of all submitted transactions associated with the claim from Pr to Not Sent. This enables you to resubmit the claim after making any corrections.

To cancel a claim:

  1. Select List > Patient or press Ctrl + O. The Patient List window is displayed.

  2. Select the patient and click Transactions on the toolbar. The patient’s Transactions window is displayed.

  3. Select any transaction associated with the claim to cancel and click Claim Stat on the toolbar. The status of each transaction is displayed in the Claim column.

  4. Select View Claim for Transaction from the section Options of the Express bar or Options menu. The Claim window is displayed.

  5. Select Cancel Claim from the section Options of the Express bar or Options menu. A cancellation confirmation message is displayed.

  6. Click Yes. A delete confirmation message is displayed.

  9. To resubmit the claim after making changes:To resubmit the claim after making changes:Click No.

The status of all transactions that were included in the claim changes to Not Sent.

  1. To resubmit, click Submit Ins.
