Using the PracticeWorks eServices
Carestream Dental and Global Payments, Inc. (GPI) have partnered to provide Payment Manager, a secure online resource for processing credit card payments directly from PracticeWorks.
When Payment Manager is enabled for your practice, you can use it to accept and process credit, debit, and insurance credit card electronic payments. You can also use Payment Manager to set up and bill automatic payments for payment plans.
The PracticeWorks Payment Manager credit card swipers are chip-enabled, and work with Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and Diners Club International credit cards, as well as Google Pay, Apple Pay, and EMV technology. Transactions are settled automatically each night.
Use the Credit Card button on the patient's Ledger Card, the Check Out Ledger, or the Post new entries window. You can also access Payment Manager by adding a credit card payment code (CC) manually to the ledger.
Use Payment Manager to process Insurance payments that are delivered via credit card number. This usually involves the manual entry of credit card information provided by the insurance company in their claim response. Enter IP (insurance payment) as the Description and Credit as the Payment Type.
The Void/Refund credit card transaction option is accessible by right-clicking an item in the ledger. Payment Manager processes the amount directly back to the credit card.
Set up Payment Plans to automatically charge a credit card using Payment Manager. The Office Expert alerts you to any scheduled Payment Plan payments that failed to process for that day. To address these, you can click Take Action or navigate to the Failed Payment Plan Credit Card Payments Contact Expert to view details and contact the responsible party.
Print Daily Transaction Reports by selecting Print > Accounts Receivables > Credit Card Daily Transactions.
For detailed instructions on using Payment Manager, see the PracticeWorks Payment Manager Getting Started Guide.
Note: Before you can use the PracticeWorks Payment Manager service, you must be enrolled. Contact a Carestream Dental representative for more information.
