Charting the Patient > Attaching Forms and Notes
You can attach notes to individual teeth or quadrants of the patient’s mouth. These notes appear in the History area in the lower-right portion of the Hard Tissue tab, and on the Progress Notes tab of the chart.
To attach a note to the chart:
Select the tooth or teeth on the Hard Tissue tab.
Click Note above the History section (or Progress Notes if viewing in 1024 x 768). The Note Template Pick List is displayed.
Select the note to attach, and click OK. A note-specific window is displayed for you to enter variables.
Each note template has a different set of variables for you to define for the current charting entry.
Use the options on the window to enter variable information, and then click OK. The Attach Note to Patient Chart window is displayed.
The tooth #, Summary, and Date fields are filled in, as well as Note text based on the variables you selected in the previous window.
You can type additional information or comments in the Note text area.
In the Display characters box, you can designate characters to display for this note.
In the Show characters on area, select the options to display this note on the patient’s Hard Tissue tab, the Soft Tissue tab, or on the Arch/quad view.
In the Type: area, you can choose whether to have this note display as an Alert!, a Watch, or both.
An Alert! on the chart automatically displays an All Alert! Notes window with important Notes each time the patient’s chart is opened. The Alert! icon is displayed on the chart, so the user can click it any time to read the Alert Notes.
A Watch on the chart displays a visual reminder that a watch note is attached to that tooth or area. Clicking the Watch icon displays the All Watch Notes window containing all watch notes for the patient.
Click OK.
