Adding a New Insurance Plan (Employer/Plan)

Employer/Plans are typically entered into PracticeWorks when patient information is entered into the Clipboard. See Entering the Patient's Insurance Information.

PracticeWorks stores this information in a pick list, so that you can access it for any patient with the same employer and plan. If you are entering insurance plan information that is not already stored in your system, then you need to add it.

To add a new insurance plan (Employer/Plan):

  1. Select Lists > Employer/Plans.

OR

From the Insurance Page of a patient’s Clipboard, select Self in the Relationship to insured party drop-down list.
