Storing Backup Media

Make sure you store your backups in a safe place. For all types of media, you should avoid excessive heat or moisture. Avoid magnets of any type; they can erase data. Always follow the manufacturer’s backup, storage, and replacement guidelines.

We recommend that you keep one or more backups off site. This should be your most recent backup and should be rotated on a daily basis.
