Configuring OrthoTrac > Setting Up Security
Use Staff Type profiles to set the same permissions for all employees of a particular type; for example, all doctors or all office managers. Set up Staff Type profiles using the Security window.
Changes made to Staff Type profiles do not affect the permissions of individual employees for which permissions were previously modified using the By Staff option.
To configure Staff Type profiles:
Select Functions > Maintenance/Setup > Security from the menu bar.
Select By Staff Type.
Select a staff type from the drop-down list.
Select a category from the Category list. A list of functions is displayed in the right pane.
Click in the Permission column next to the function for which you are setting permissions.
Click Enable All or Disable All to enable or disable all functions in the selected category.
Select Yes to enable access to this function for all employees of the selected type.
OR
Select No to disable access to this function for all employees of the selected type.
Repeat this procedure to set permissions for additional staff types or additional categories.
Click OK to save your changes and close the Security window.
Staff members with access to run the Auto Payment report but for whom an OrthoTrac login password is not set can generate the report, but only the last four digits of credit card numbers will be visible. Staff members who lack access are unable to run the report. To enable access, see Configuring Security for the Auto Payment Report.
