Visual Treatment Objective

To access the visual orthodontic treatment objective (VTO), select the drop-down arrow to view the list of orthodontic operations.

When launching a visual orthodontic treatment objective for the first time, you are prompted to enter the arch length discrepancy (ALD).

When performing a visual orthodontic treatment objective (VTO), you can select from the following options:

Initial ALD:Initial ALD: The patient’s initial arch length discrepancy (ALD) in millimeters. The number you enter represents both arches. When entering a crowding condition, enter a negative number.
Growth Forecast:Growth Forecast: Simulates the growth of a patient up to age 18. Initially, you enter the number of months for the patient to grow; for example, enter a value of 24 months to simulate a 2-year growth prediction. You can also enter the patient’s skeletal age in the second number field. If the skeletal age of the patient is unknown, leave the value at 0.

Actual growth patterns may not follow simulated growth forecasts. Growth forecasts are created using assumptions based on long-term growth data averages, but human growth patterns can vary significantly. You should not rely solely on growth forecasts produced by the software when making diagnoses.

COCR:COCR: Your software also gives you the ability to complete a COCR conversion. After you enter the landmarks, the COCR Conversion Values window is displayed for you to enter the value that represents the patient’s deviation. With the COCR conversion values entered, the patient’s profile photo image is adjusted on the screen, and a description of the tracing in the drop-down list includes COCR.
