Setting Image Import and Export Preferences

Use the Add/Import/Export tab to set defaults for importing and exporting images when working with visits. When creating automatic visits, you must select Thumbnails as your default gallery.

To set import and export images:

  1. Click Preferences Button. The CS OMS Imaging Preferences window is displayed.

  2. Click the Add/Import/Export tab.

  3. Type the name of or browse for the Default Import Folder. This folder is displayed automatically when you import images.

  4. Type the name of or browse for the Default Export Folder.

  5. Use the drop-down list to select the Default Import File Type that is displayed when importing images, typically JPG.

  6. Use the drop-down list to select the Default Import Gallery for imported images.

  7. Select any of the following import options:

  8. Prompt for Import Folder CleanupPrompt for Import Folder CleanupSelect this option to display a prompt after importing images into the Filmstrip. This prompt advises you about deleting images.

  9. Use FilmstripUse FilmstripSelect this option to display the Filmstrip. Deselect this option to hide the Filmstrip.

  10. Watch Import Folder (sets Batch Acquire and Automatic Visit)Watch Import Folder (sets Batch Acquire and Automatic Visit)Select this option to monitor the import folder(s) for new files. When new files are detected, a new visit is created automatically.

  11. Use Batch AcquireUse Batch AcquireSelect this option to automatically use the Batch Acquire option when adding visits.

  12. Create Automatic VisitCreate Automatic VisitSelect this option to automatically create a temporary visit when adding a visit.

    If you selected the Use Batch Acquire option, all files in the default import folder are imported and the visit is assigned a title.

    To use this option, you must select
    Thumbnails as your default gallery.

  1. When finished making changes, click Apply to accept the changes and OK to close the window.
