Setting Cephalometric Imaging Preferences

To set options for working with cephalometric images:

  1. Click Preferences Button. The CS OMS Imaging Software Preferences window is displayed.

  2. Click the CS X-Ray tab.

  3. In the Ceph section, select one of the following Sharpness Filter options:

  4. Sharpness:Sharpness:Applies Sharpness filter to the image.

  5. No Sharpness:No Sharpness:Displays an unfiltered image.

  6. Linear:Linear:Select to display images with a default pseudo-gamma value of 48.

  7. Optimized Contrast:Optimized Contrast:Select to increase the contrast.

  8. Bone Density:Bone Density:Select to display the optimal contrast for analyzing bone density.

  9. Edges:Edges:Select to display the optimal contrast for identifying the edges in an image.

    • The filter off option is the default.

  1. Select Apply Sharpness FilterApply Sharpness FilterSelect to apply the Sharpness filter to acquired x-ray images, increasing the contrast and simplifying the identification of grayscales contained in the x-ray image.

  2. Select Mirror Lateral Ceph DRMirror Lateral Ceph DRThis option is available only for cephalometric images acquired using the CS 8000C digital cephalometric unit.

  3. Click OK.
