Using the CS 9300 Unit with a Cephalostat > Acquiring Frontal AP or PA Images
Ask the patient to remove all metal objects.
Ask the patient to wear a lead apron. Be sure the apron is flat across the patient’s shoulders.
On the control panel, press and hold the height adjustment buttons to raise the cephalostat head.
Open the head clamps and ask the patient to stand up straight in front of the unit in the following positions:
For a frontal AP, facing the generator
For a frontal PA, facing the cephalometric sensor
Press and hold the height adjustment buttons to level the ear cones to the patient’s auditory canals.
Insert one cone gently into the patient’s auditory canal. Turn the button slowly to close the arms. Insert the second cone gently into the patient’s auditory canal.
On the control panel, click
to turn
ON the Frankfort laser positioning beam and align the patient with
the beam for the frontal AP only.
